2017 IDSA Clinical Practice Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Management of Infectious Diarrhea.

IDSA published a Clinical Practice Guideline for the diagnosis and management of infectious diarrhoea in October 2017. The full guideline is found at the following site here

New recommendations include the use of culture independent methods including panel-based multiplex molecular diagnostics, the best way to collect optimal samples for testing and when re-evaluation of microbiology testing is required.

More importantly suggestions for empirical and directed therapy, as well as preventative measures to prevent transmission. Although, the preferred option would be to have a a guideline of our own. By selecting pertinent and adoptable measures recommended in this guideline, and using it in conjunction with local sensitivity patterns (or the National Antibiotics Guidelines) could be of some use.
