The Aim of the group:

​

• To build a collaborative network among universities, Ministry of Health and other stakeholders in Malaysia to improve antibiotic use in humans and animals through education, surveillance, research and innovation.

• To build a strong local foundation in MDRO research, linking public and private institutions together, to share and complement each other’s work.

• To contribute to the unique challenges of MDRO control and treatment through research, education and knowledge exchange.

Objectives:

1. to work towards setting up common standards for measuring appropriate antibiotic prescribing,

2. To conduct a situation analysis on antibiotic stewardship activities in the country,

3. To set up surveillance and training modules.
